Angela Rae Evers
Angela Rae Evers, 33, of Auburn, formerly of Sac City, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan.15, at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with Carl Lee officiating. Burial will be at Wall Lake Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City.

Angie was born Aug. 22, 1977, in Sac City, a daughter of Edwin Evers and RaNay (Heun) Freese. She attended school in Sac City, graduating from Sac City High School in 1996. Following high school, Angie moved to Wall Lake, Carroll and then Auburn. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake where she remained a member. She worked at the Villager in Sac City and Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View as a cook and had been working for Kasperbauer Cleaners since 2007.

She adored her kids and enjoyed being outside, taking them swimming or on an adventure to the zoo. She liked spending time with her friends and going canoeing.

Survivors include her children, Brylee and Scott Freese; mother, RaNay Freese of Wall Lake; father, Edwin (Sharon) Evers of Laurens; brother Aaron (Mary) Ausborn, of Sac City, and their children Brandon, Faith and Aaron Jr; sister, Jessica Evers of Carroll, and her children Jenna, Joedon, Jackie and Kali; uncle, Don (Sue) Evers of Badger; grandmother Nancy Heun of Sac City; Angela’s significant other, Nathan Meister of Auburn; extended family members and many friends.

Angela was preceded in death by her grandmother Florence Evers, grandfather Robert Evers and uncles Rodney, Randy and Craig Heun.2

Douglas R. Bierl
Douglas R. Bierl, age 36, died Tuesday, May 11, of colon cancer after a short illness. His funeral service will be on Saturday, May 14th at Our Lady of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday May 13th, also at the church. Burial will take place at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, Rural Route, Algona.

Douglas was born in Fort Dodge and raised in Humboldt and Ankeny. He attended the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School, as well as Ankeny Elementary and Saydelle High School.

Douglas worked for Briggs Medical Warehouse in Urbandale at the Progress Industries sheltered enclave for 8 years. Douglas was proud of his work at Briggs and counted many friends wherever he went. He participated in activities at Special Olympics and Boy Scouts. His favorite activity each summer was to attend Camp Sunnyside. Doug liked to attend weekly Mass at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church and sing with the church community.

Doug will always be remembered for his happy and gentle nature, his pleasant disposition and love of music.

Survivors include his parents, Russell and Dianne Bierl of Ankeny, one sister, Rachelle and her husband Anthony Hinrichs and niece Grace of St. Louis, MO, and two brothers, Mitchell of Arlington, VA, and Ross of Ankeny. Grandparents include Everett and Evelyn Baldus of Ankeny and Irene Bierl of Algona. His grandfather, who preceded him in death, was Virgil R. Bierl of Algona and his great-grandfather was George H. Bierl from Templeton, IA.

Memorials can be made to Our Ladies Immaculate Heart Catholic Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.2
