Colleen K. Sievers
Colleen Kay Sievers, 62, of Onawa, formerly of Omaha, stepped into heaven to be with the Lord Thursday, June 7, 2007, at her home she shared with her loving husband of 43 years, Jerome.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Patrick O'Kane officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a Scripture prayer service and rosary at 7 p.m., at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Colleen Kay was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Katherine (Eggers) Adams. She spent much of her life in Denison, but the family later moved to Carroll, Iowa.

She married her husband, Jerome, on May 30, 1964, and settled in Omaha. She worked for Commercial Federal Bank for many years, then for the Foresters. She was actively involved with the fraternal side of the Foresters and held many positions including newsletter editor and chief ranger. In 1999, the couple moved to Onawa to prepare for retirement and enjoyed lake life. She worked at Zima Insurance for a short time.

She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, crafts, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Jerome of Onawa; two sons, Jerome Jr. and his wife, Valerie of Omaha and Kevin and his friend, Deborah Pred of Omaha; a daughter, Janelle and her friend, Trina Vodraska of Des Moines; her mother and stepfather, Katherine (Adams) and Paul Beyer of Carroll, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Loren "Tex" and Judy Adams of Estherville, Iowa, and Larry "John" and Cheryl of Geneseo, Ill; two sisters and their husbands, Cheryl and Roger Wernimont of Carroll, Iowa, and Norma and Robert Holley of Scranton, Iowa; a granddaughter, Faith Sievers of Omaha; stepgrandchildren, Shannon, Lisa, Shane and Dylan Meissinger of Omaha; a great-stepgrandson, Javion Meissinger of Omaha; her stepmother-in-law, Wilma Sievers of Breda, Iowa; and many other relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Adams; an infant daughter, Jeannie Marie; and her father and mother-in-law, Lenus and Agnes Sievers.
