Funeral Will Be Held at 9:30 a. m. Saturday at Piqua.

Anton Voelmeck, well known farmer of the Piqua community, died at St. John's hospital yesterday. He was 47 years old.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a. m. Saturday at St. Martin's church in Piqua. Burial will be made in the cemetery there.

Born in St. Joseph, Mo., Mr. Voelmeck moved to Olpe, Kas., with his parents when he was 2 years old. He grew up there and then went to Piqua 26 years ago, and has farmed in that neighborhood ever since.

He leaves his widow and a brother Frank, of Eureka.3

Leonard J. Burry
WATERLOO — Leonard J. Burry, 98, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 6, at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born Nov. 6, 1910, in Victor, son of John C. and Mary E. Kahler Burry. He married Margaret Catherine Bannon on April 21, 1936, in Waterloo. She died Jan. 15, 1980. He then married Teresa Maria Kolthoff on June 6, 1987. She died Sept. 29, 2006.

He graduated from St. John’s in Victor in 1929 and then attended St. Ambrose for a year. He went to barber college in 1931, and was a barber in the area. He later was employed in the cured ham department at Rath Meat Packing Plant for 35 years, retiring in 1972. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survived by: a son, Eugene (Mary) of Hudson; a daughter, Frances (David) Hagemann of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren, Julie (Bob) Delagardelle, Teresa (Dave) Driscoll, Tom (Rose) Hageman, Steve (Susan) Hageman, John (Connie) Hageman, Mark (Chris) Hageman, Greg Burry, Matt (Stephanie) Burry, David (Jodi) Burry, Ryan (Jen) Burry, Jane (Kevin) Cain and Barbara (Allen) Frost; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. 4th Degree Knights of Columbus rosary. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Memorials: may be directed to the church.3
