Kenneth John "Kenny" Stork
Kenny Stork, 49, of Breda, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll of complications from Lou Gehrig's disease.

Mass of the Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at St. Bernard Church in Breda. Father Joe Dillinger will officiate. Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at the St. Bernard Church in Breda, where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian wake service at 7 p.m. by the St. Bernard Parish.

Burial, with Military honors by the Breda American Legion, will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery at Breda. Memorials may be left at the church in Mr. Stork's name. The Sharp Funeral Home of Breda is in charge of the arrangements. Lector for the mass will be Brenda Ridings. Gift bearers will be Phyllis Davis, Ruth Lappe, Susan Benedict, Patricia Stork, Margaret Gross, Mary Eickman, Michele Stork, Sandra Hackerson and Brenda Bruggeman. Mass servers will be Collin Stork, Matt Wessling and Colby Lappe. Eucharistic Ministers will be Bill Stork, Pat Stork and Amy Stork. Casket bearers will be Dale Steinkamp, LeRoy Steinkamp, Kevin Nieland, Kenny Schettler, Dean Bruning, Mike Wiederin, Chuck Malm and Jim Macke.

A son of Matt H. and Marry Ann (Grabner) Stork, he was born June 12, 1959, at Carroll. He grew up in the Breda community and attended the St. Bernard School. After his family moved to Carroll, he attended the St. Lawrence School and then graduated from Kuemper High School in 1977. After graduation in 1977, he entered the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in January, 1983, at the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, he was employed at the Pella Corporation in Carroll.

On Dec. 29, 1984, he married Michelle Warnke at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The couple moved to Breda in 1988, where Mr. Stork and his brother, Henry Stork, purchased Zeke's Place in Breda. They operated the business until 2002, when he became the manager of the Carroll Municipal Golf Course, a position he held until his death.

He was a member of the St. Bernard Parish and the Breda American Legion. He enjoyed playing golf, watching his kids play golf, gambling, fishing, watching golf on television and working.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Stork of Breda; three children: Cortney Young and her husband T.J. of Memphis, Mo., Curtis Stork of Breda and Matt Stork of Breda; twin grand-daughters, Zoe and Mya Young; eight sisters: Phyllis Davis and her husband Larry of Stuart, Ruth Lappe and her husband Fred of Auburn, Susan Benedict and her husband Robert of Highland, Calif., Patricia Stork and her friend Leo Lindner, Jr. of Deloit, Margaret Gross and her husband Patrick of Council Bluffs, Mary Eickman and her husband Lynn of Littleton, Colo, Michele Stork and her friend Frank Gregorsky of Vienna, Va. and Sandra Hackerson and her husband Ron of Ames; and eight brothers and their wives: Alan and LuJean Stork of Carroll, Robert and MaryLou Stork of Lake View, Donald and Marsha Stork of Breda, Thomas and Mary Jean Stork of Carroll, William and Pat Stork of Lidderdale, Gordon and Carol Stork of Clive, Matt Jr. and Teri Stork of Lake City and Henry and Amy Stork of Altus, Okla.

Mr. Stork was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Chris Lappe.1

LAKE VIEW - Arnold J. Ziegmann, 62, of Lake View died unexpectedly at his home Sunday morning, April 8.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Wall Lake, with the Rev. Edmond Adams officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, under direction of the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home of Lake View. Pallbearers will be Hans Schmidt, L. H. Corn, Elmer Lange, Sidney Nelson Jr., Gerd Fischer and Charles C. Raine.

Mr. Ziegmann was born in Sac County Aug. 27, 1910, a son of Anton and Anna Bering Ziegmann. He was a laborer in the gravel business.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; six children, Marvin of Lake View, Mrs. James (Jeanette) Slavin and Duane of Omaha, Neb; Mrs. Raymond (Violet) Falasco of Stone Mountain, Ga; Clarence of Breda and Mrs. Bruce (Marilyn Curtice) of Bakersfield, Calif; and 14 grandchildren.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Joseph Ziegmann of Spirit Lake; Mrs. James (Dorothy) Van Fleet of Hutchinson, Kan; Mrs. Sidney (Helen) Peterson of Westside; Mrs. Leo (Leona) Schmitt, Raymond Ziegmann and Mrs. Russell (Agnes) Ackerson of Early; and Mrs. LaVerne (Alice) Snyder of Schaller.3

Marvin A. Ziegmann, age 79, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Born on November 13, 1934, in Sac County, IA, to Arnold and Edna (Boes) Ziegmann, Marvin attended grade school in Breda and graduated from Lake View High School in 1953. He became a certified Electronics Technician (CET) attending DeVry Institute in Chicago, IL. Following graduation, Marvin enlisted in the Marines, serving his country from June 1953 through March 1955. Earning the rank of Cpl 10ct54. He was awarded the National Defense Medal.

On September 28, 1963, Marvin was married to Dorothy Mae Peter. They made their home in Wall Lake and were blessed with four children: Steven, William, Brian, and Julie. He was baptized and confirmed in the catholic church in Breda, and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake. He was also a member of the Knight’s of Columbus, Kiwanis and American Legion.

Marvin owned and operated AJ’s TV-Radio shop in Lake View. He was an avid sports fan, following the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed fixing old radios and watching the classic TV shows.

Survivors include his daughter, Julie Ziegmann of Wall Lake; sons: Steven Ziegmann of Lake View; William Ziegmann of Omaha, NE; and Brian Ziegmann of Omaha, NE; brothers: Clarence (Judy) Ziegmann of Carroll; and Duane (Marie) Ziegmann of Colorado; sisters: Jeanette Slavin of Omaha, NE, Violet Falasco of Colorado and Marilyn (Bruce) Curtis of Colorado; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; parents; brothers-in-law, Jim Slavin and Ray Falasco; and sister-in-law Lucille (Peter) Ziegmann.

Dorothy Mae Ziegmann, 75, of Wall Lake, died on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake with Father John McGuirk officiating. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery under the direction of the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Dorothy was born on Dec. 22, 1934, at Dedham, the daughter of Francis Xavier and Anna (Gruber) Peter. She grew up in the Dedham area. Following graduation from St. Angela Academy in 1953, she went to work for AIDS Insurance, which later became Allied Insurance. She moved to Des Moines in 1961.

On Sept. 28, 1963, Dorothy was united in marriage to Marvin Ziegmann at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dedham. They lived on the North shore of Lake View and in 1986 moved to Wall Lake. Four children were born to this union, Steve, Bill, Brian and Julie. She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family.

Dorothy was an avid sports fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Bulls. She enjoyed watching game shows on television and doing word searches.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin; three sons Steve of Lake View, Bill of Omaha and Brian of Omaha; daughter Julie of Lake View; brothers Alfred (LaVonne) Peter and Robert (Jane) Peter both of Dedham; sisters Betty Riesenberg of Carroll, Theresa (Lavern) Riesenberg of Halbur, Frances (Kenny) Wieland of Templeton, and Carol (Vernon) Irlmeier of Glidden; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters: Marie Danner, Rose Maile and Lucille Ziegmann.1

Born Feb. 27, 1936, at Dedham, she was a daughter of Frank and Anna (Gruber) Peter. She spent her younger years in the Dedham community, attending St. Joseph Schools. She graduated from St. Angela Academy in Carroll In 1954.

On Feb. 13, 1964, she married Clarence Ziegmann at St. Joseph Church in Dedham with Father Robert Brown officiating. They lived in Breda, where Mrs. Ziegmann was employed by the Breda Day Care Center and volunteered at the Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and the Parish Ladies Guild.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence of Breda; three daughters, Monda Duncan and her husband, Stewart, of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., Cathy Ziegmann of Rochester, Minn., and Beth Ziegmann of Breda; two grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred Peter and his wife, LaVonne, of Dedham and Robert Peter and his wife, Jane, of Dedham; and seven sisters, Marie Danner and her husband, Alfred, of Dedham, Rose Maile and her husband, Clyde, of Jefferson, Betty Riesenberg and her husband, Ray, of Carroll, Dorothy Ziegmann and her husband, Marvin, of Wall Lake, Theresa Riesenberg and her husband, Lavern, of Halbur, Frances Wieland and her husband, Kenneth, of Templeton and Carol Irlmeier and her husband, Vernon, of Manning.
